The Scottish
Genealogy Ring

Welcome the The Scottish Genealogy RingThe Scottish Genealogy Ring, is a web ring dedicated to helping people trace their Scottish ancestory. It provides several services to the community, ranging from linking websites that contain relevent information, through to designing simple websites for those who cannot do it themselves.

What is a Webring?

"Webrings are communities of websites, united by a common interest and organized into a circular "ring" of mutual links, together with some technology to make it all work. Links on each page permit you to go from site to site, to travel the entirewebring, eventually returning to the page from which you started.  Links also permit you to access the list of member sites and to join the webring."

To learn more about how to create a Webring.com ID 9if you do not have one and which is required in order to join), copy and paste the proper code onto your submitted web site, or other information about webrings at Webring.com go to the WebRing Users Guide.

Requirements for joining this webring:

  1. No adult/porn sites, hate sites, or sites promoting any kind of illegal activity.
  2. Your web site must be about Scottish genealogy, either your own family or Scottish genealogy in general.
  3. Commercial sites may be included in this webring, BUT must pertain specifically to Scottish Genealogy.
  4. You must have a VALID e-mail address; no autoresponders, no hard bounces. We need to send out periodic webring updates and if we find that this is the case with your e-mail address, your site will be deleted WITHOUT NOTICE.
  5. You must place the nav bar code on the web page that you submit. If you move it without changing the URL link after being made active, the autochecker will FAIL your site and it will be suspended.
